Spray the detergent on lightly, brush all in 1 direction, towel off in one direction.
I hold up a scrap of carpet with 3 large dog poop deposits on it that I brought for a challenge on how to remove this kind of deposit using Bac-Out, against all comers using anything they liked.
There were no takers.

I applied Bac-Out to it, agitated slightly, and towelled off.
Deposit all gone in a few minutes.
About to work on a delicate cotton flower print chintz faced, cotton velvet back throw pillow.
Using Bi-O-Kleen products Spray and Wipe cleaner.
Spray it on, wipe off with a towel.
